Let me explain:

Don’t be fooled by the “deck restoration experts”…

Your deck doesn’t need to be sanded back to look new again.

The truth is, sanding is the quickest and easiest way for the “deck restoration companies” to restore a decking.

If they can get in and out in 2 days, they still charge you the same but they’re simply increasing their profits, not the life of your decking.

Sanding your deck is a quick way to strip it back and get the first coat on in one day but the sanding process is actually destroying the strength of your boards.

What you won’t be told is…  you can only sand your decking back two times, after which, your only option will be to replace all of your boards.

Think about this…

Your decking boards are only 19mm thick.

And every time you use harsh sanding machines, they level all of your boards so they can get a nice even, fresh timber…

To achieve this, they’ll be thinning your boards by 3 to 5mm. 

It could be more if your boards are badly cupped and twisted.

How many times do you think you could go through this destructive deck restoration process before your boards are unsafe to walk on?

The answer is twice.

Another thing “they” won’t tell you is…

Without proper maintenance, your deck restoration will only last 6 to 12 months not 5 to 10 years.

But let’s say you get lucky and your deck restoration lasts 5 years.

Are you going to want to sand it back again knowing you’ll have to replace the boards in the next few years?

You know I wouldn’t bring this up unless I had an alternative.
